Endowment
Established - 2008
Purpose
- To recognize (1) a graduating senior and (2) a staff member of the
Northshore School District. Graduating seniors will pursue a degree in education
or the performing arts. A scholarship is available for both a high school
graduate and a teacher-administrator seeking an advanced degree.
Provided
by - The endowment was established through memorial
contributions from friends in 2007 and by family donations in 2008 and
2009.

- $ 2,000 in each category.
Purpose & Criteria - High
School Graduate
The
candidate must be accepted into an accredited college or university.
The candidate must be pursuing a degree in either education or the
performing arts. The candidate must demonstrate that he/she is a
good citizen, has obtained a high school grade point average of at least
3.0 and provided service to school and/ or community. Financial need
will be a primary consideration with a demonstrated willingness on the
part of the candidate to earn a portion of the remaining school expenses
that will be incurred obtaining their degree.
Application & Selection - High
School Graduate
Applicants
should use the standard scholarship application form posted on the
Foundation website. Finalists
will be interviewed by the scholarship committee of the Woodinville Rotary
Club and will be notified of the time and place of interviews. The winner
will be notified by May 1. Applications
are due February 12,
2010 at a Northshore School District High School
Counseling Office.
Purpose & Criteria - Teacher-Administrator
pursuing masters
The
candidate must be accepted into an accredited college or university. The
candidate must be pursuing a Master's degree in a field of study which
will benefit the teaching and/or administrative excellence of the
Northshore School District. The candidate must demonstrate that
he/she is a good citizen and is scholastically qualified to complete a
Master's Degree program. The candidate must demonstrate that he/she is
committed to remain as an educator or administrator in the Northshore
School District. Financial need will also be a consideration.
Application & Selection - Teacher-Administrator
Applications should be submitted on
the "continuing education application form" posted on the
Foundation website. Finalists
will be interviewed by the scholarship committee of the Woodinville Rotary
Club and will be notified of the time and place of interviews. The winner
will be notified by May 1. Applications are due March 31, 2010 at the
Foundation address of P O Box 173, Bothell,
WA 98041.
Endowment
Established through Memorial and Family Contributions

Dr.
Karen Forys served as Northshore School District Superintendent from 1994
until her death in September of 2007.
