The memorial...

Nick Jewett was a longtime amateur baseball program supporter and youth team sponsor who died in 1984 in an auto accident in eastern Washington while traveling to visit a son at Washington State University.  Nick and his family sponsored and coached many youth baseball organizations in the Northshore area.

Funds for the endowment account were raised by a Jewett Baseball Scholarship Committee made up of Nick's friends and community leaders. The group sponsored an old-timers' Fourth of July Baseball game in Bothell with all proceeds contributed to the Foundation's Nick Jewett endowment account until over the years the fund grew to exceed $20,000.
The Jewett memorial donations were part of funds merged with other scholarship memorials to form the Foundation when it was organized in 1984, shortly after Nick Jewett's death.
