For Academic Year 2009-10
Richard
Worthington, Jr. Memorial Good Citizen Award (Bothell). One new, renewable scholarship
of $3,000 will be awarded. The
criteria will include school/community service, good citizenship and good
attendance. A GPA of 3.2 and a strong academic program is required. Financial need will be considered. The scholarship may be renewable for an additional three
academic years. Use the
standard Northshore Scholarship Foundation application form.
No letters of recommendation are to be attached.
The winner will be notified by May 7.
Applications are due February 27, 2009 at the Counseling Office at
Bothell High School. Applications for renewal are due March 31, 2009 at
the Foundation address. Kathleen Sanford Memorial Teaching Scholarship (Bothell) – The scholarship amount will be $1,500. It may be used at a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Criteria will include a sincere intent to pursue a career in K-12 education, good citizenship, good attendance, service to the school or community and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need may be a consideration. Use the standard Northshore Scholarship Foundation Application form. No letters of recommendation are to be attached. Applicants should include information about their interest in pursuing a career in education. The winner will be notified by May 7. Applications are due February 27, 2009 at the Counseling Office at Bothell High School. Bothell
High School Faculty Scholarship (Bothell)
- One
scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded.
The Bothell High faculty will nominate and select the recipient, so
applications are not needed. Criteria will include good citizenship,
service to the school and financial need.
The winner will be notified by May 7. BJ Brown Memorial Scholarship (Bothell)
The scholarship amount will be
$2,000. It will be awarded to
a graduating senior at Bothell High School who has exhibited the following
characteristics: always gives his/her best; is respectful and kind to all;
demonstrates high academic achievement; is a loyal friend; and plans to
attend a 2- or 4-year college with the ultimate goal of receiving a 4-year college degree.
Candidates will be nominated by the senior class so applications
are not needed. Finalists will be interviewed. The winner will be notified
by May 7, 2008.
Bothell
High School Alumni Scholarship (Bothell) – One scholarship of $1,500 will be
awarded. The scholarship
winner will be a senior committed to promoting spirit and pride at Bothell
High School. Other criteria
will include someone active in bettering the school and active in
community involvement. Finalists
will be interviewed. The
finalists will be notified of the time and place of the interviews. Use the standard Northshore Scholarship Foundation
application form. No letters
of recommendation are to be attached.
The winner will be notified by May 7. Applications are due February
27, 2009 at the Counseling Office at Bothell High School.
Lee and Velma Blakely Memorial Scholarship (Bothell) The scholarship amount will be $1,500. It will be awarded to a graduating senior at Bothell High School who has a sincere desire to continue education and is determined to find success. It may be used at a public vocational school, community college or a public 4-year college or university. Financial need will be a primary consideration. Candidates do not apply. The recipient will be nominated and selected by the staff at Bothell High School. The winner will be notified by May 7. Northshore
Rotary – Karen Forys Scholarship (Bothell) One scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded.
It is sponsored by Northshore Rotary Club.
Academic achievement, service to others and plans to attend a
four-year college will be criteria. Financial
need is a consideration. Use
standard Northshore Scholarship Foundation application form.
No letters of recommendation are to be attached.

Club of Northshore Allen Haynes Academic Scholarship (Bothell) The scholarship amount will be
$1,500. The scholarship is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of
Northshore. Criteria will
include leadership and service to the school or community. Candidates must demonstrate potential for academic success.
Active Key Club members are encouraged to apply. Financial need will be a
consideration. Use the
standard Northshore Scholarship Foundation application form. No letters of recommendation are to be attached. Winners will
be notified by Shawn Gardner Memorial Scholarship (BHS and WHS Only) The scholarship amount will be $1,500. Candidates will be current high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in counseling or some related “helping profession.” On the scholarship application, students should include information about why they have decided to pursue a career in their chosen profession. Financial need will be a consideration. Finalists may be interviewed. Use the standard Northshore Scholarship Foundation application form. No letters of recommendation are to be attached. Applications are due February 27, 2009 at either the Woodinville or Bothell high school counseling office. The winner will be notified by May 7.
