Since joining the Foundation in 1988, Woodinville Rotary has invested more than $600,000 in college scholarships and in seven endowment-style accounts within the Northshore Scholarship Foundation. The accounts include:

   (1) contributed $35,000 to establish its own scholarship account from 1988 to 2003.

   (2) contributed $30,000 to establish a scholarship account in memory of past president, charter member and community leader Jerry Wilmot.

  (3)  The club contributed $24,250 to start and build the Theater Arts Scholarship fund in tribute to the dynamic community theater activist Peg Phillips, founder of Woodinville Repertory Theater and a character actor in the hit television series "Northern Exposure".

  (4)  contributed $10,500 to establish the Marv Cook memorial scholarship for math education. Marv was a popular math teacher at Woodinville High School.

  (5)  Contributed and helped raise $41,570 for the Marv Workman memorial business scholarship program at University of Washington Bothell. Marv was a charter member and past president of Woodinville Rotary and served as a founding member of the scholarship foundation, serving many years as its treasurer.

  (6)  Devoted proceeds from its auction of 2006 to establish a $25,000 account for 21 Acres Education programs with the annual proceeds provided 21 Acres for its agriculture and sustainable living projects.

   (7) Contributed to and helped raise $25,600 for an account in memory of Katherine E. (Betsey) Hughes, daughter of Rotarians John and Nan Hughes. Proceeds from the account will be devoted to providing educational support for someone working in the field of mental health and at housing facilities for those coping with mental illness.

In addition the club donated $5,000 to help establish the Julian Karp Emerging Scholar award given in memory of the late superintendent of Northshore schools. It also contributed to the endowment in memory of Kenmore Air Harbor founder and past Foundation trustee Bob Munro a charter member of Northshore Rotary.
