Northshore Foundation Memorial Scholarship - The scholarship amount will be $2,000.

The scholarship will be awarded to one graduating senior from among Bothell, Inglemoor, Woodinville or the Secondary Academy for Success high schools. The candidate must be accepted into an accredited college or university. The candidate must be pursuing a degree in either music, secondary-school teaching or special education. The scholarship is being offered in 2012 in memory of Anna Ferguson Cowles, Chris Lin, Darren Lindal, Kathleen Sanford and Dr. Walter E. Sundstrom.

The candidate must demonstrate that he/she is a good citizen, has obtained a high school grade point average of at least 3.0 and have provided service to school and/ or community. Financial need will be a primary consideration.

Applicants should use the standard scholarship application form posted on the Foundation website. Finalists will be interviewed and will be notified of the time and place of interviews. The winner will be notified no later than May 1. Applications are due February 6, 2015 at a Northshore School District high school counseling office.

The decision to create a new scholarship is based on the desire of the sponsors
of six scholarship accounts to be able to participate in offering a
scholarship every year. Alone, as funds are available, each account would be able to provide
a scholarship only once every two, three, or even four years.

Pooling the funds for five scholarships in 2015 will make it possible to provide two $2,000 awards for candidates considering careers in special education, secondary-school teaching, aviation, public service or in music.
